5 Things I Want My Kids To Know Before They Grow Up
I've been very delayed in answering some of the tags and memes that have been sent to me in the last few months. My fault, entirely.
It's a good thing that I bookmarked the pages of those tags so I was able to go back to them in the last few days. I will definitely get to them as soon as possible.
First on my list is this wonderful tag sent to me by my friend Bang.
As a parent, there are so many things that we want to impart to our kids to make sure that they grow up to be good people. Of the many things, here are the top 5 on my list..
- Respect is not a gift, it is earned.
- Money does not buy happiness.
- Education is the key to their future.
- Goals can be achieved through hard work.
- The family is the one constant thing they can always rely on.

may i add two things...
be sincere in saying thank you and sorry
never make promises u cant keep..
Kids need guidance and it is good that parents have a set of their own rules and teachings to impart to their kids.
Thanks for visiting my blog. Happy weekend!
totally agree with your list. im sure the lil girls will grow up as fine ladies ..
I so agree with your list. I love number 5- so true! That's why I always tell my two girls to stand up for each other. When they are older, they will realize how important it is that they do.
true--there are so many things we want our kids to learn before they grow up. i agree with your list, on the other hand, i also feel that even though we are not aware of it, our kids learn a lot along the way. they learn from us our ways--we are their models to emulate.
Those 5, so true! May your kids grow happy and fulfilled.
Cookie, your values are great and I totally agree with you, especially about the family members looking out for each other.
And one thing pala,I tagged you to write something about your favorite book, show, band, whatever, hehe.
here is the link: Psych Out
If it takes you a longtime to do that, ok lang, since I too take my sweet time doing tags :D
I'll do the tag soon Cooks, Thanks for tagging me.
I agree, from 1-5!

Hi Sakai!! Oh yes..these two values are also a definite must :)
Hi Eastcoastlife!! And as a parent, I try to make sure that these values/rules/teachings are taught in the best possible way :)
Hi Analyse!! I pray that they do. But as you know, hindi lang naman PG (parental guidance) ang end-all and be-all ng growing up. It's really up to them, andito lang naman tayo to "guide" them down the right path. In the end, sila din ang pipili. Just hope that it is the right path :)
Hi Chats!! Talaga yan. In this day and age, the love and strength of family seems to be waning. I grew up in such a clannish atmosphere and I want to impart that to my kids too :)
Hi Sexymom!! Very true. As I've told Analyse, we are really just there to guide them properly...as much as possible. However, their future is entire up to them :)
Hi Abaniko!! Thanks...that is one of the things I always pray for :)
Hi Julie!! Thanks!! Of all the values that seems to be forgotten in this modern world of ours, the love of family is the one that seems to be put on the backburner the most often. Kaya nga yan ang talagang pinupukpok ko lagi dito sa mga Hezzies..it seems to be working naman :)
Hey, thanks for the tag..will do :)
Hi Wenchie!! No problem..will wait :)
Uy, tuloy tayo ha :)
Hi Mitch!! Will be visiting. Hope you guys are ok after Cosme :)
Amen to all five!
But is it true -- everything can be summed up in the golden rule?
Hi Annamanila!! Ah yes..the golden rule. It's a mantra that I myself live by :)
Hi cookie! Those things are great! All parents want their children to grow up as good people. It's one of the best legacies they can have from us parents.
Have a great day! Take care!
I agree with everything on the list. parenting is not as easy as 1-2-3, and I guess the best way is to teach and mold them while young before they even grow up and have their own set mindframes. ;)
