PMN Fam Pics Series 4 : Plated

NEW YORK ON A PLATE

For I this month's "Plated" theme, I am posting some of the epicurean delights I had the chance of partaking during my trip to New York. Everyone knows that the Big Apple is a food lover's haven and since I am a big food lover I threw all caution to the wind and ate, ate, and ate to my heart's content. It's a good thing that I did a lot of walking or I would have ended up as big as the blimp hovering above the New York skyline.

Buffalo Wings in Buffalo
(on a paper "plate")

Junior's New York and Chocolate Cheesecake

Junior's Pastrami and Virginia Ham Sandwich
(I made a $50 bet that I could stuff it in my mouth whole and I lost)

Chicken Piccata ala Cheesecake Factory

Cheesecake Factory's Banana Cheesecake

Update :

Here's the list of other "Plated" Fam Pics for the month. Please check them out.

OMG! Cheesecake! Yum...

Swerte mo nga e - I think you are naturally slim. Yun bang kahit isang bandehadong pagkain ang kainin mo - di pa rin tataba. :)

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Ruth!! Have I ruined your diet? So sorry. But seriously, food this yummy can ruin anyone's diet. Mine included :)

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Feng!! O sige next trip, sama ka. Mag-food fest tayo. Taba natin siguro pag balik.

Of all the cheesecakes I had (obviously marami akong kinain na cheesecake) this Chocolate Cheesecake was the hands down winner. Even my husband agreed :)

Hi Mitch!! Sa totoo lang, nung nag-popost ako nagutom ako bigla. Buti na lang may mga nauwi akong brownies galing sa Subic (we went nung long holiday) kaya yun ang naging pig-out menu ko...hahaha..ang takaw talaga :)

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Cheska!! The $50 went to my aunt who was supposed to be treating us for lunch. In the end, I sort of paid for part of what we ate. Yabang ko kasi eh. Ang laki pa naman nung sandwich na yun, just like all those other New York sandwiches :)

Hi Tintin!! I know exactly what you mean. When I was looking at these pictures again I actually felt my stomach grumbling :)

Mitch said...

Talaga? San kayo namasyal?

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Rhodora!! So you're a cheesecake fan too!! Pareho tayo. I demanded to be brought to restos that had good cheesecake. As in, demanded ha.

Thanks so much for the compliment but it's far from the truth. Hahaha. Madali akong tumaba. Mabuti na lang I have 2 kids who keep me on my toes the whole day. Daig pa ang workout sa gym :)

Hi Mitch!! Sa SBMA kami nag-stay. Sa Binictican. Tapos dun lang kami. Nung Saturday pumunta ako sa bayan at namalengke. Actually, lagi kaming pumupunta sa Subic. Even before. One of my best friends is from there kaya lagi naming binibisita. Dati may bar siya dyan sa may Rizal Ave., dun sa mga gilid na kalye.

Hi Cookie. Everything looks delicious especially the cheesecake.Your photos literally made me hungry just now kaya I sneaked downstairs to get a slice of cake (left from hubby's birthday). Ha ha!

Wow, you lost a whopping $50!

GreyMom said...

Wow!!! Sarap naman! Buti ka pa, parang di ka tumataba. Sexy pa din!

I'm salivating here especially with that cheesecake! Looks really soft, sarap lunukin, no more chewing, haha.

Connie said...

Josme, ano bang sandwich yun? Parang nakaka-crack ng bibig.

vernaloo said...

oh yeah...good thing you did a lot of walking there. Mukha kasing matamis and carbo loaded yung mga food hehe

Kakagutom talaga ang "plated" theme ng FamPics kasi I'm sure food ang ipopost ng lahat.

Mukhang masarap nga yung chocolate cheesecake. I'll try to bake it one time nga.

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Wenchie!! Yup, you are so right. I love to eat. And I'm one of those cooks who can actually eat her cooking.

Sige, game ako sa all-u-can-eat merienda. I like the one in Barrio Fiesta in SM Fairview too. Sarap ng dinuguan and the picadillo. Hay naku, I'm craving :)

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Rach!! Oh no, another diet ruined. Like you, I had to eat a couple of brownies after I posted this :)

Ya, I lost $50 to my Ninang. Well, it wasn't so bad naman kasi she treated us to a play before eating. So medyo tabla lang :)

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Mary!! Kala mo lang yun. I gained a few pounds on that trip. Sino ba namang di tataba sa ganyang klaseng pagkain. Actually, I went on a diet before leaving because I had every intention of eating my way through New York. Kaya ingat ka pag inimbita mo ako sa inyo...matakaw ako..hahaha :)

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Lynn!! The cheesecakes were killers!! You know how I ate them, I would get a piece of the Chocolate cheesecake and get a piece of the New York cheesecake and then stuff the concoction in my mouth. Sarap ng combination, I tell you. Junior's is really popular for their cheesecakes and I refused to leave New York without trying them :)

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Connie!! Laki talaga ng sandwich na yan. I couldn't take an entire bite nga eh. Pero, naubos ko pa din..hahaha. Di pa kasama yung cheesecake ha :)

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Verns!! Yep, super carbo-loading ang ginawa ko dun. And their servings are huge. Yun ngang regular na drink nila parang tabo na eh. Kaya you really need to burn off those calories or else magiging balyena ka talaga. Plus I have my hyperthyroid so eat to death ang lola mo :)

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Bang!! Don't forget to give me a call when you decide to bake that Chocolate Cheesecake. Pramis, pupuntahan kita dyan para makakain uli ako nito..hehehe :)

julie said...

Cookie, I don't know if the cheesecake is Junior's but I have tasted 2x a hand-carried cheese cake coming from the US that looked like that. Hmmm..matanong nga.

Grabe, if it was me, I would have gained a lot, I mean a lot of pounds just by having those treats you got.

Thanks for sharing your culinary adventures and wonderful stories :)

raqgold said...

yum, i miss american food :(

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Julie!! Ang tyaga naman ng nag-handcarry nung cheesecakes. But if it was Junior's then you know what I'm talking about when I say that it is truly a slice of heaven. Sarap di ba?

Ang alam ko nagbebenta na ng Cheesecake Factory cheesecake sa PriceSmart. I think its like 1500 bucks or something :)

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Raqgold!! Pareho tayo. Actually, more often than not, I find myself dreaming of the food I ate there. Ewan ko ba, masarap naman ang pagkaing Pinoy pero American food appeals to me too. As well as Italian, Spanish, Portugues, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese....lahatin mo na!! Sarap kumain!!

ann k said...

hi cookie! if your pictures are only edible, kinain ko dito. :)

Chateau said...

Wow, sarap naman ng plates mo! I remember my sis brought home some really special cheesecake from NY which we kept in the ref under lock and key hehe.
Btw, I would have won that bet haha, the big mouth that I am! LOL

happy weekend, sis!

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi AnnK!! Actually, I was drooling over these pictures. Parang namiss ko bigla yung mga kain-marathon namin sa New York :)

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Chats!! Tagal mong nawala ah. Hay naku, cheesecakes from New York are the best. Iba talaga!! Hayaan mo, sa susunod na may sandwich eating contest, ikaw ang manok ko..hehehe :)

Senor Enrique said...

The neighborhood pizzerias in NYC usually offer delicious buffalo wings; no need for me to trk all the way Upstate for some. Junior's cheesecake has always been very popular. I usually stop by and have a slice whenever I find myself across the bridge and near that famous eatery. As for the pastrami sandwich, now we're talking ... my favorite is at Stage Deli or Carnegie Deli. With mayo, of course, hahaha!

ScroochChronicles said...

Hi Senor!! Actually, the buffalo wings were good but the chili dog beside it was even better. Nagkataon lang na there was this huge sign that said "Best Buffalo Wings" kaya namin sinubukan.

Now the cheesecake was tops. Haven't had anything better. Grabe, it was so creamy...heaven.

The pastrami sandwich..well, it was huge. But you know that since most NY sandwiches are made that way. And I learned to like sauerkraut because of this. Masarap pala :)

Hi DocChef!! Thanks for visiting. I assumed you were a doctor and a chef on the side or a chef and a doctor on the side. And I was right. Interesting combination :)
